Use 1/8-inch seam allowance to create a motif that is two inches larger.
Project Instructions
1. Cut 10 Yellow curved-top wedges.
2. Cut 10 Blue flower pointed-top wedges.
3. Cut two center circles from 4-inch White squares.
4. Alternating curved and pointed wedges, join five of each shape in half circle with 1/4-inch seams. Repeat with remaining wedges. Press all seam allowances toward darker fabric. Sew two halves together. Press under seam allowance around curves and points.
5. Baste sewn circle of wedges to 15-inch square of White background fabric. Blind stitch to background fabric.
6. With right sides of two center circles together, sew 1/4-inch seam around outer edge, leaving one-inch opening. Turn circles to right side through opening. Press, then blind stitch over center of wedges.
7. Layer backing, batting and finished top. Baste together. Quilt background and Dresden Plate as desired. Square background fabric and bind with Blue printed fabric.
